We are excited to share the inspiring journey of RTIS Network’s participation in the Erasmus+ ARTisGreen 2nd Transnational Meeting, held in the beautiful city of Aveiro, Portugal. Over the course of several days, our team engaged in a series of enriching activities, workshops, cultural explorations, and collaborative projects—all centered around the theme: “Creating Synergies in Art for Wellbeing and Inclusion.”

Day 1: Discovering Aveiro — The Venice of Portugal 🌍✨
Our adventure began with a memorable river boat tour on the stunning Ria de Aveiro, often called the “Venice of Portugal.” 🚤🌿 This vibrant 47-kilometer-long coastal lagoon, connecting the Vouga River to the Atlantic Ocean, is a captivating maze of canals, islands, and marshlands. Known for its colorful moliceiro boats, salt production, and birdwatching, the experience set a perfect tone for the week ahead.
RTIS members, together with the 4th Lyceum of Alimos, embraced the local culture and began building meaningful connections in this picturesque setting. We’re energized and eager for the inspiring days to come!

Day 2: Workshops & Strategic Planning 🎨📝
Day 2 was dedicated to impactful workshops focused on fostering inclusive education in the arts. Our team actively participated in:

“Inclusive Teaching Methods in Arts – The Development of Inclusive Pedagogical Practices”
“Part II: Practical Art-Based Activities”

These sessions provided hands-on techniques to promote diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. We also dedicated time to analyze recent changes in teaching strategies within our partnership and collaborated on developing our Inclusion and Diversity Plan, outlining actionable steps to embed inclusion into our future educational practices.
The energy and collaboration among participants reinforced our shared commitment to transforming arts education through innovative, inclusive approaches.

Day 3: Exploring Porto & Cultural Exchange 🌉🌇
On Day 3, our Greek delegation and partners traveled from Aveiro to Porto, Portugal’s vibrant city. We immersed ourselves in Porto’s rich history, architecture, and lively streets, strengthening our bonds through shared cultural experiences. This day of exploration fueled our inspiration and deepened our understanding of Portugal’s diverse cultural landscape.

Day 4 & 5: Showcasing Creativity & Celebrating Collaboration 🎭🎶
The final days culminated in a powerful artistic performance held at EB de Aradas in Aveiro, featuring inclusive, collaborative art projects created by students and educators. This event demonstrated how art can serve as a vital tool for wellbeing and inclusion, showcasing the transformative power of collective creativity.
Throughout the week, we also developed comprehensive plans to promote equity, accessibility, and diversity in arts education, reinforcing our dedication to fostering inclusive environments.

Looking Ahead
Our participation in the ARTisGreen project has been a truly enriching experience, reaffirming our passion for inclusive arts education and international collaboration. We thank all partners, students, and educators for their dedication and inspiring efforts.
Stay tuned as RTIS Network continues to implement these innovative practices, promote diversity, and create positive change in arts education across our institutions.
Together, we are creating a future where arts serve as a bridge to wellbeing, inclusion, and global understanding!

From November 19-22, 2025, the Municipality of Fano hosted the fourth transnational meeting of the GreenMove project—a gathering that transcended mere milestones to become a historic declaration of commitment and innovation. Coordinated flawlessly by RTIS Network, this CERV event showcased exceptional organization, strategic vision, and a united drive toward a sustainable future for Europe’s rural communities. 🎯🤝

A Meeting That Sets a New Standard in Sustainable Collaboration 🌱✨

Under RTIS’s expert leadership, the consortium of 17 partners from 16 countries not only advanced project deliverables—such as workshops on integrated mobility, vital data collection, and the development of the fourth chapter of the Interactive Sustainable Living Guidebook (GISLG)—but also made a groundbreaking collective pledge.

This pledge? The creation of the “GreenMove Sustainability Toolbox”—a dynamic, open-access digital repository designed to remain a living legacy long after project funding concludes. This innovative platform will house proven e-tools, strategic models, and best practices from GreenMove and previous EU projects, empowering rural communities to implement sustainable mobility and energy efficiency solutions independently. 🌐🔧

RTIS’s Expertise in Action: Building a Legacy for the Future 🔧🌿

A spokesperson from the Municipality of Fano emphasized, “A project’s true success is measured by its longevity. The Toolbox is our promise that GreenMove’s knowledge will evolve into a resource fueling the green transition across Europe’s rural areas for years to come.”

Throughout the project, partners have already demonstrated tangible impact:

In North Corfu, Greece, GreenMove laid the groundwork for a new Small Ports Management Office, a pivotal step in sustainable coastal mobility.

In Podstrana, Croatia, the consortium called on the European Commission to designate May 9 as a “European Day of Sustainable Mobility,” linking green action with European identity.

Partners from Malta to Latvia are actively implementing plans for on-demand transport, inclusive infrastructure, and community-led green tourism.

The Toolbox will serve as a comprehensive systematization of these real-world experiences—offering future adopters tested blueprints for impactful change.

A Unified, Impact-Driven Consortium 🌍🤝

Funded by the CERV-2024-Network of Towns program, the GreenMove network exemplifies the power of collaboration. The decision in Fano underscores a shared commitment to European values of solidarity, territorial cohesion, and sustainable development.

By co-creating this legacy tool, RTIS and its partners ensure that the spirit of GreenMove—pragmatic problem-solving and unwavering dedication to rural transformation—will inspire communities across Europe for generations to come. 🌟🌿

The initiative demonstrates how European cooperation can be transformed into practical, community-level impact through education and innovation.

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Project “ZeroPlastic 4 All” (ZP4All)
(Project No. 2023-2-EL01-KA210-VET-000170094), trainers from RTIS Training successfully implemented a local dissemination and capacity-building activity in Alimos, translating European cooperation into tangible educational impact at community level.

Following their participation in transnational meetings and joint training activities, RTIS trainers transferred the knowledge, methodologies, and tools developed at European level to the local Vocational Education and Training (VET) community, reinforcing the project’s objective of empowering learners and educators to actively address plastic pollution.

The activity was organised as a one-day conference and interactive workshop, structured into six thematic sessions, and involved 30–40 students from at least three different classes. Participants were introduced to the ZP4All project framework, its innovative educational tools, and the newly developed ZP4All Educational Guide. In parallel, the ZP4All online platform was presented through a structured e-presentation, providing an overview of its learning materials and practical resources.

The training sessions addressed the core thematic areas of the project, including:

Understanding the Life Cycle of Plastics

Strategies for Reducing Plastic Use

Alternative Materials and Technologies

Policy and Regulation

Community and Corporate Responsibility

Education and Outreach

Monitoring and Evaluation

Best Practices in Monitoring and Evaluation

The event was hosted in Alimos, with the support of the local school, highlighting how European-funded initiatives can foster meaningful local engagement and contribute to sustainable behavioural change. Through hands-on learning and participatory approaches, students were encouraged to critically assess plastic use and explore practical, scalable solutions.

RTIS Network is spearheading a groundbreaking initiative within the Erasmus+ VET ZP4All project, focusing on combating plastic pollution and fostering sustainable development in coastal ecosystems. Through innovative questionnaires, multilingual outreach, and targeted education, the project aims to empower future professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to promote circular economy practices and protect our oceans from micro-plastic contamination. Discover how this initiative is shaping a greener, cleaner future for generations to come.

RTIS Network, a leading Project Partner in educational innovation and international collaboration, continues to advance its pivotal role as the primary partner of the Erasmus+ VET ZP4All project. This initiative aims to equip Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions with the necessary tools and knowledge to address critical environmental challenges, particularly to combat plastic pollution, through sustainable development practices and circular economy principles.

Progress and Developments in the ZP4All Project

Building on the success of the initial phases, RTIS Network has embarked on the second stage of the project, focusing on the creation and deployment of specialised questionnaires. These tools are designed to gather insightful data on plastic pollution, micro-plastics, and sustainable practices within coastal ecosystems—areas most impacted by plastic waste.

During the first semester of 2025, the project saw the launch of an educational guide and a trainers’ manual, both of which serve as foundational resources for educators and trainers involved in the initiative. These materials aim to enhance understanding and foster effective teaching strategies on environmental topics, especially within the context of VET programs. (please follow the @zp4all.eu

Focus Area: Plastic Pollution & Circular Economy in Coastal Ecosystems

The core focus of this project phase revolves around addressing plastic pollution, particularly microplastics—tiny plastics less than 5mm in size—that contaminate marine environments and threaten biodiversity. The questionnaires developed by RTIS are tailored to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to plastic reuse, recycling, and microplastic identification among students and educators.

This approach emphasizes the importance of integrating circular economy concepts into VET curricula, encouraging students to think critically about waste reduction, resource reuse, and sustainable management of coastal ecosystems.

Multilingual Outreach: Enhancing Accessibility and Impact

Recognizing the diverse linguistic landscape of participating regions, the second questionnaire has been translated into Italian and Greek. These translated versions have been distributed to targeted schools, ensuring broader reach and engagement among local communities and future professionals in the field.

Conclusion: A Step Forward in Environmental Education & Sustainable Development

RTIS Network’s ongoing efforts exemplify how vocational education can serve as a powerful catalyst for environmental change. By developing targeted assessment tools, translating them for inclusivity, and actively involving schools, the project paves the way for a new generation of environmentally conscious professionals equipped to tackle plastic pollution and promote sustainable practices.

Together, through innovative education and international collaboration, we can make significant strides towards healthier coastal ecosystems and a cleaner planet. 🌊🌱

Another positive impact Event coordinated by RTIS Network!!

Another successful milestone for RTIS as the pivotal coordinator of the GreenMove (a CERV program funded by the EU) second international meeting took place in Malta. Once again, RTIS demonstrated its leadership in bringing together diverse stakeholders, with the event organized under its expert guidance.

With over 30 participants from 16 countries, RTIS, in collaboration with the Siggiewi Local Council, expertly managed the event titled “Methodology and Technologies for Sustainable Mobility and Energy Efficiency in Island and Rural Contexts.” Their strategic coordination ensured a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaboration.

From June 10th to 13th, 2025, the picturesque island of Malta—specifically the charming community of Siggiewi—became the vibrant hub for this influential gathering. The event drew 71 participants from 21 nations, including leading researchers, NGO and CSO representatives, policymakers, rural development experts, and local stakeholders—creating a fertile environment for impactful dialogue rooted in shared sustainability goals.

At the heart of this gathering was RTIS’s exceptional coordination role, which facilitated four days of intensive workshops, presentations, and interactive discussions on “Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Mobility and Energy Efficiency in Island and Rural Contexts.” RTIS’s proactive leadership ensured seamless logistics, fostered collaboration, and encouraged the exchange of localized, scalable solutions—ranging from microgrid projects to e-mobility hubs—all while emphasizing cultural preservation and community engagement.

A key highlight was the parallel conference on “Promoting European Values and Democratic Dialogue in Island and Rural Communities,” which further showcased RTIS’s commitment to integrating democratic participation with technological innovation. Notable contributions, like Dr. Suzanne Maas’s keynote, illuminated how community-led initiatives can drive climate resilience and democratic inclusion—an area where RTIS’s facilitation has been instrumental in fostering meaningful dialogue.

This Malta event not only reinforced RTIS’s leadership in advancing sustainable rural mobility but also laid the groundwork for future initiatives. The insights and partnerships cultivated here will propel the GreenMove project into its next phase, culminating in the upcoming third meeting in Podstrana, Croatia (October 15-18, 2025).

Visit the project webpage: www.greenmove.site

RTIS’s role as the event’s coordinator was central to its success—bridging innovation, policy, and community action. The gathering exemplified how RTIS’s strategic leadership can strengthen networks, inspire cross-border collaboration, and accelerate Europe’s transition toward sustainable, resilient rural communities. The relationships and knowledge gained will serve as catalysts for ongoing efforts to empower rural areas across Europe. With the upcoming event in Croatia, RTIS continues to drive this momentum forward, shaping the future of sustainable rural development.

In August, we held the 6th Online Monthly Meeting of the ZP4All project partners, marking our first gathering after the summer recess. While we did experience an unexpected absence from our Portuguese partner, Brigada do Mar, the meeting was still fruitful, as representatives from two of the three partner organizations—RTIS, our coordinating organization, and Formedil Bari—were present.

This meeting served as an essential platform for partners to review the project’s ongoing progress and to delineate the tasks that lie ahead in the latter part of the year. A significant focus of the discussion revolved around the delayed deliverables and the outstanding questionnaires, which were supposed to be provided by Brigada do Mar but were not submitted as anticipated.

The partners engaged in a comprehensive analysis of the current state of affairs, scrutinizing the deliverables scheduled for September, discussing the ongoing collection of questionnaires from both students and teachers, and evaluating the data collected thus far. Recognizing the importance of maintaining momentum, we collaboratively devised a strategic plan to address these challenges and ensure that we remain on course. This included a commitment to collaborate on the missing deliverables to facilitate their prompt completion.

Despite the absence of one partner, the meeting proved to be productive and reinforced the commitment of all present to the project’s overarching goals—namely, to enhance environmental education throughout Europe. The open dialogue during this session allowed us to recalibrate our efforts and solidify our partnership, ensuring that we are united in our mission to foster a more sustainable future. Through collaboration and shared dedication, we are determined to navigate the obstacles ahead and achieve the objectives set forth in the ZP4All initiative

Empowering Sustainability: Data Collection in the ZP4All Project

As we progress with the ZP4All project, we are firmly anchored in the essential endeavor of gathering data through questionnaires, a key activity that will shape the ZP4All VET Educational Guide & Manual. This systematic approach is not merely a formality; it is a critical step toward understanding the unique perspectives and experiences of those involved in the project. By collating this information, we are equipping ourselves with the knowledge necessary to enhance our strategies and drive impactful results.

Our partners throughout the project are working diligently to ensure that we receive comprehensive input from diverse stakeholders. The engagement of Formedil Bari, a leading Italian vocational education and training organization, exemplifies the commitment to this undertaking. Here, students are actively participating in the completion of their questionnaires, contributing their insights and feedback to this vital process. Facebook

These surveys are crafted to target both students and educators, recognizing that each group brings valuable and distinct viewpoints. For students, the questionnaires explore their understanding of sustainability, their experiences in environmental education, and their aspirations for a greener future. This feedback is key to tailoring future educational initiatives, ensuring they are relevant and impactful. On the other hand, teachers offer invaluable insights into the effectiveness of current curricula, teaching methodologies, and the overall engagement of learners with sustainability topics. By analyzing the feedback collected from both groups, we aim to identify gaps in knowledge, highlight successful practices, and drive improvements in vocational education related to environmental sustainability.

The importance of this data-gathering activity cannot be overstated. The information we collect will be instrumental in shaping a comprehensive Educational Guide & Manual that reflects the collective wisdom and experiences of those involved in the project. This guide will serve not only as a resource for educators but also as a blueprint for integrating sustainability into vocational training across Europe. Through this effort, we hope to inspire institutions and instructors to incorporate innovative, eco-friendly practices in their curricula, fostering a generation of students who are not only skilled but also deeply committed to sustainability.

Moreover, your participation and feedback are crucial in this collaborative endeavor. By sharing your thoughts and experiences, you help us paint a detailed picture of the current landscape of vocational education in relation to environmental awareness and practices. This inclusive approach ensures that our initiatives resonate with the realities faced by students and educators alike.

As we continue to develop this project, we also bear in mind the broader implications of our work. The ZP4All initiative is positioned at the forefront of the global movement toward sustainability, and your engagement is vital in steering the collective effort toward a more sustainable future. With the insights gained from these questionnaires, we aim to cultivate an educational environment that not only prioritizes environmental stewardship but also empowers young people to take action, advocate for change, and contribute to the global fight against plastic pollution. Facebook

In conclusion, the data-gathering phase of the ZP4All project is more than just an academic exercise; it is a stepping-stone toward fostering an educated and engaged youth that is prepared to tackle the pressing environmental challenges of our time. Together, with the comprehensive input from our partners, students, and teachers, we can create an Educational Guide & Manual that truly reflects the needs and ambitions of the next generation of leaders in sustainability. Your voice matters—join us in shaping this vital resource and paving the way for a greener future! 🌍💚
