That idea was&nbsp;<strong>Demos\u2011Kratos<\/strong>: power from the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over 24 months, we organised\u00a0<strong>six transnational meetings<\/strong> across Europe \u2013 from the Ionian coast of North Corfu to the mountains of Valongo \u2013 and an additional series of digital workshops that ensured continuous engagement despite travel disruptions affecting nine of the 16 countries at one critical juncture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What we achieved together is not merely a set of deliverables. The Interactive Sustainable Living Guidebook (GISLG)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A six\u2011chapter, open\u2011access resource co\u2011created by all partners, covering:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>European rural identity &amp; transformation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Innovative technologies for sustainable mobility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainable tourism &amp; eco\u2011friendly transport options<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fundamental rights &amp; EU values in transport infrastructure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Holistic societal progress through citizen engagement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gender equality, social inclusion &amp; mountainous regions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The GISLG is now available on the GreenMove platform as a living toolkit for any European municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. The European Day of Sustainable Mobility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The consortium issued a formal call to the European Commission to establish&nbsp;<strong>May 9 (Europe Day) as the annual European Day of Sustainable Mobility<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 a continent\u2011wide moment for citizens and municipalities to take concrete action for greener, more inclusive transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. The GreenMove Digital Toolbox &amp; Open\u2011Access Resources<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>An online repository of proven e\u2011tools, policy templates, citizen science methodologies, and replication guides \u2013 all freely available to any municipality, regardless of size or budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Universal Design as a Core Legacy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspired by the Municipality of Fano (presented by Davide Frulla), the consortium adopted\u00a0<strong>Universal Design \u2013 \u201cDesign for All\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0as a binding principle for inclusive mobility planning. This approach ensures that infrastructure investments actively benefit families with strollers, children, elderly citizens, and persons with disabilities \u2013 and it will now be integrated into the GreenMove methodology for future replication. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comune.fano.pu.it\/ \" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.comune.fano.pu.it\/ <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Permanent European Network of Citizen Science Observatories<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The consortium formalised itself as a&nbsp;<strong>permanent association<\/strong>, open to new members, with a rotating secretariat and annual assemblies. This guarantees that the GreenMove network \u2013 and its commitment to citizen\u2011led climate action \u2013 will continue long after EU funding ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Pathway to Interreg Europe<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The consortium confirmed its ambition to upscale the GreenMove methodology through an&nbsp;<strong>Interreg Europe proposal<\/strong>, focusing on policy learning, cross\u2011regional cooperation, and improving local governance instruments. This will allow the partnership to move from a network of towns to a policy\u2011improvement project with regional and national impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overcoming Adversity: The Paphos Example<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the 5th meeting in Paphos (March 2026), severe weather and transport strikes made travel impossible for delegations from&nbsp;<strong>nine of the 16 countries<\/strong>. The consortium refused to postpone. Instead, we delivered a seamless&nbsp;<strong>hybrid meeting<\/strong>&nbsp;that ensured 100% participation \u2013 with remote partners presenting, discussing, and co\u2011creating as if they were in the room.
