RTIS Network is getting bigger and more influential in the global scene of Environment by networking locally and internationally, in fact RTIS Network becomes officially and for the next three years, a member of the GWCN (Global Waste Cleaning Network), based in UK and more precisely in Suffolk of East England.
Global Waste Cleaning Network – GWCN is an international non-profit network comprised of NGOs, Educational institutions, and private and public sector companies that are active and interested in environmental issues related to the management and reduction of waste, whether solid, liquid or gaseous. Through research and conservation projects, clean-up campaigns, environmental education, and involvement in a range of important international committees, GWCN undertakes concrete steps for a more healthy life.
GWCN is in particular dedicated to conserving and maintaining healthy oceans, coastlines, lands and the atmosphere for both people and nature.
GWCN supports environmental activities, showcases, connects and trains its network members, contributes to environmental debates, fosters environmental research, and spreads environment related information.
GWCN seeks to protect, preserve and improve the environment for the benefit of mankind through:
- the establishment of an international network of active environmental organizations and specialists
- the awareness raising of waste negative effects on the environment
- the promotion of good waste management practices
- the contribution to the advancement of research in waste management
GWCN plays a vital role in the growing worldwide movement to reduce the impact of Environmental pollution on society via advocacy and the implementation of evidence-based programs to reduce pollution in Oceans, Coastlines, Lands and the Atmosphere.
The purpose of the Global Waste Cleaning Network is to support environmental activities, showcase, connect and train the network members, contribute to Environmental debates, foster environmental research, and spread environment related information.
GWCN advocates for global environmental issues, with special focus on marine debris, air and plastic pollution, and waste management.
RTIS as a network that honors its goals and objectives, officially became a member and begins cooperation with GWCN with special focus on marine litter in Greece and Med countries, air and plastic pollution and waste management in both the islands and mainland Greece
