Ανθεκτικότητα μέσω καινοτομίας και Βιωσιμότητας

Thursday, 1 October 2026 | Szczecin, Poland
The fourth day of the 4th Transnational Meeting demonstrated with exceptional clarity how the ARTisGReen project continues to bridge sustainable architecture, hands-on artistic practice, and international community-building — three pillars that define the initiative’s mission within the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH framework.
RTIS Network, represented by the 4th Lyceum of Alimos, joined partners from Greece 🇬🇷, Romania 🇷🇴, Türkiye 🇹🇷, Poland 🇵🇱, Portugal 🇵🇹, and Estonia 🇪🇪 for a programme that moved from institutional sustainability to creative skill-building, culminating in a vibrant celebration of European cultures.
🏛️ Morning Session | The Marshal’s Office: A Living Laboratory of Passive Design
The day commenced with a visit to the Marshal’s Office of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship (Urząd Marszałkowski Województwa Zachodniopomorskiego) in Szczecin — one of Poland’s most environmentally advanced public buildings .
Designed as a demonstration passive house, the building represents a tangible commitment to the European Union’s green transition objectives. Participants learned how passive design principles — including optimised thermal envelopes, natural ventilation, and renewable energy integration — can reduce operational carbon footprints while maintaining functional excellence.
For the ARTisGReen delegation, this visit provided a real-world case study in how institutions can translate sustainability policy into architectural practice. It reinforced a central project principle: that environmental responsibility is not confined to artistic production but extends to the infrastructure of education, governance, and civic life. 🏗️🌍
This alignment with the Erasmus+ horizontal priority of environmental sustainability — one of the programme’s core objectives for the 2021-2027 period — demonstrates how ARTisGReen operationalises European policy at the local level.
🎨 Afternoon Session | Workshops at School: Bioplastics, Cyanotype & Linocut (Part 2)
From 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, participants returned to the host institution — Państwowe Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych im. Constantina Brancusiego w Szczecinie — for the second instalment of the creative workshop series.
For Students:
🔹 Bioplastics — Participants advanced their exploration of biodegradable materials, refining techniques for producing sustainable alternatives to petroleum-based plastics. This workshop directly supports the project’s objective of developing key competencies in circular economy principles among students .
🔹 Cyanotype — The historic photographic printing process continued to offer participants a meditative, low-tech creative practice. By exposing light-sensitive chemistry to sunlight, students produced distinctive blue-toned images — a technique that connects artistic heritage with sustainable, chemical-conscious practice.
🔹 Linocut — Students deepened their mastery of relief printing, refining carving techniques and exploring composition through the interplay of positive and negative space. The workshop reinforced the balance between technical precision and creative expression that defines ARTisGReen’s pedagogical approach.
For Teachers:
A dedicated workshop session focused on inclusive teaching methodologies, providing educators with frameworks for supporting diverse learners in artistic education. This aligns with ARTisGReen’s explicit objective to increase participation of students from vulnerable groups in eco-friendly activities by 50% .
The parallel structure — students and teachers learning simultaneously, each according to their needs — exemplifies the project’s commitment to lifelong learning and dual-target professional development.
🌍 Evening Session | International Evening: A Celebration of European Unity
At 6:00 PM, the school transformed into a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity for the International Evening — a signature event of every ARTisGReen mobility.
Participants from all six partner nations shared:
🍽️ Traditional cuisine — homemade specialties representing each country’s culinary heritage
🎶 Music — rhythms and melodies that transcended language barriers
💃 Dance — traditional steps taught and shared with enthusiasm
🤝 Stories — conversations that deepened friendships forged over four days of collaboration
The evening embodied the Erasmus+ priority of promoting active citizenship and intercultural dialogue . It also demonstrated how the project’s AST Fusion methodology — integrating Art, Science, and Technology — extends beyond formal workshops to encompass the informal, relational dimensions of European cooperation .
For the Greek delegation, the International Evening was particularly meaningful: it offered an opportunity to share Greek cultural traditions while experiencing the hospitality and creativity of their Polish hosts and international peers.
🎯 Alignment with ARTisGReen Objectives
Day 4 contributed directly to the project’s stated goals:
| Objective | Day 4 Contribution |
|---|---|
| O1 – Integrate sustainability into teaching/training practices | Passive house visit demonstrated institutional sustainability; workshops modelled eco-friendly material use |
| O2 – Develop key competencies among students and educators | Advanced skill-building in bioplastics, cyanotype, and linocut; inclusive teaching workshop for educators |
| O3 – Develop new methods based on interdisciplinarity and STEAM | Integration of architecture, material science, printmaking, and heritage into a coherent learning arc |
| O4 – Increase involvement of vulnerable groups | Teacher workshop on inclusive pedagogy; accessible programme structure |
These activities reflect the Cooperation Partnerships objectives under Erasmus+ KA220-SCH: increasing the quality and relevance of partner activities, reinforcing transnational networks, and developing innovative practices that can be transferred across European educational contexts .
